cap on number of bodies with collision detection?

In my game, someone made a level with lots of stuff in it. When you get to a certain point in the level (the end), collisions stop happening. Now, things keep moving with predetermined velocities, but they do not collide. I tried changing the order in which bodies are added to the world, and this "fixed" the problem. Fixed is in quotes, because somewhere else some other bodies stopped being used in the collision detection.

Is there a cap on the number of bodies involved in collision detection? If so, is changing that cap the proper way to address this issue?

I haven't run into that issue & I don't think there is a cap.  How many objects are in your world, and how are they distributed?

The best way to get bugs fixed is to reduce the scenario down into something we can easily run/debug.  Can you send us a reduced repro?
